About Me: The Beautiful Tragedy of a Born Optimist
Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the digital terraces.
My West Ham United journey began way back in the mid-1990s, courtesy of my now brother-in-law. For my baptism of fire, he dragged me along to see us play Tottenham. We fell behind twice, looked utterly doomed, and then somehow managed to claw our way back to win 3-2. Absolute, unadulterated, incredible scenes.
Clearly sensing he was on a roll, he took me back to Upton Park a couple of weeks later. This time? The Hammers went and beat the mighty Manchester United.
Two games. Two massive scalps. At that precise moment, in my naive, beautifully confused youth, I made a grand logical leap: *I just assumed it was going to be like this every week.*
I was so spectacularly wrong.
Instead of a lifetime of relentless silverware and glory, I had accidentally signed up for decades of emotional turbulence, structural panic, and bubbles that almost instantly fade and die. Classic West Ham move.
This blog is a collection of match day musings, transfer window hysteria, and the general existential dread that comes with supporting East London's finest. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
COYI.
